First Lab Power Dinner + Long time no see oh my dear blog!

Hey guys,

It feels like gazillion years since my last post.

The blogging mood is on right now.

Why? because I find a better way to pour my thoughts by not to be actually open my blogger through any browser. Smile

I use Window Live Writer ^^v

(I’ll write an article about it soon, when I have the mood *jot in my to do bloglist*)

God, I miss writing and pouring my heart and soul in this private space. Writing in here is much more spacious, not as chaotic as in Facebook where everybody’s life is kinda like a timeline of other-people’s-life-seems-better-than-mine.

I seldom post it there (Facebook and Instagram) because when I do, I am anxious to see how many people like my post (it happens to everybody, don’t deny it!)

Well, I kinda gone through a self therapy of these kind of social media attention by removing myself from posting and appearing on Facebook and Instagram timeline (but super active in twitter XD).

Nevertheless, I am still love blogging and writing about my thoughts but Facebook is not the channel for it. It is crowded as I said, mixed information about personal and news, chaotic. So I prefer pouring my thoughts here, my lovely spot. Smile

Anyway, now lets talk about my first dinner conducted under my final year project supervisor yesterday.

Evening, we have a Dinner at Renaissance Hotel, KL for buffet and I tell you, it is awesome!

First time I try fresh scallop and it taste amazing! I really love it Open-mouthed smile

But that’s not the end yet, I finally able to practice my Japanese with the two Japanese guy in my lab. I was shy in the beginning, and now since we have known each other, they are super friendly! Okay, I can get crazy with them now. XD

DSC_0828

We kinda separated into single/bachelor table and family table group. LOL

I apparently told them about my another life in the net as well, hahaha… well, I lead two different identity. I’m not so sure that I am ready to show or not but I end up showing it anyway.

*self promotion I see, XD LOL*

Anyway, I feel that it is time I start to merge these life that I have. It seems that the time has come for me to face it. Come on Aziana, you’ve been silence because you were afraid. Afraid no more and be yourself. Be who you wanna be. I know you are ready, even though deep inside you are still questioning yourself. Chin up, be who you wanna be. Be you.

Owh.. I still can’t believe that my mini mighty tiny Kancil car can fit 2 Japanese, 1 Iranian and 1 Chinese guys and I am the only lady driver. XD

*Imagine having all these good looking gentleman in your car, girls LOL.. Surrounded by cool guy, but no, I am not interested in relationship yet okay!*

I had a blast night knowing them, it is such a fun day socializing and talking with them. Such fun people. Awesome-ness. Thumbs up

Time to get back to work guys, final year now. Final year project. Test 2 is approaching. Shall get kicking up my speed now.

Work + Enjoy + Happy + Healthy = Life is good Open-mouthed smile Alhamdulillah

Feels good to be back to make this blog alive once more. I have bigger plan though. Anyway, step by step, I am still in planning process. I’ll broadcast it when I am ready for it. Oh yea!

My timetable is pretty full and I am so busy with all the rush of assignment and presentation.
Its kinda fun in a way though.

I've been updating myself a lot through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram than this blog!
oh my poor blog, being abandoned. I'm so sorry! XD

This is just some random update somehow release some stress.

I feel this blog is pretty messy as I wanted to update lots of stuff and ended up = no update at all!

There's a lot of things going on this semester:

  1. First time compose + sing my own song "Time Trap" with the best band in UPM and talented friends from Music Faculty for Yinzi Concert 2013
  2. Singing invitation from USM Japan Festival
  3. First time performing solo guitar on stage
  4. Gathering with my foster family and sisters~!
  5. First time singing at Bukit Expo- Pretty weird experience though.. hahaha
  6. First time performing my own song "Time Trap" at K11!
Anyway, I really work super hard for this semester.. sometimes, its just, I don't know, thing goes wrong with the way I answer my test paper  for Machine and ended up with 20+ marks deficit. =(
I really need to find out about it ASAP!

So far so good ^^
Be positive + eat healthy + rest well + pray hard + study smart =]
I'll never give up till the end. Never will.

Semester 5 gonna end soon. Time run so fast...

Bahrain 2013: Departure

Basically what I gonna write about in this blogpost is my experience on a different airplane than I usually take: MAS and AirAsia.

For departure to Bahrain, I took SriLankan Airlines. We had transit at Colombo, Sri Lanka.
SriLankan airline is the cheapest to go Bahrain. Well, it is economical.

My Electromagnetic lecturer is a Sri Lankan.
I really like the way he teach. He really try his best to make us understand this subject.
Many people failed this subject. Surprisingly I got A! Wow... Didn't expect that at all.

By the way, it seems like lots , lots of my friend are going vacation/internship overseas, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, New Zealand, USA, Australia, Europe... Some went oversea few times!
So rich ahh?? The peer pressure has been up to another limit!

Well, I guess... none went to this part of the globe: The ARABIAN GULF country.
Except those who study at Oman or Egypt...
Well, now pretty much not suitable to visit the middle east anyway...

Well, lets continue about my journey from Malaysia to Bahrain!
By the way, I depart to Bahrain when it is still during fasting month of Ramadan. But due to the journey through plane, we are not fasting on that day.

The journey:
KLIA, Malaysia >> Colombo, SriLanka ~~ 3 hour 35 minute
Colombo, SriLanka >> Manama, Bahrain ~~ 5 hour 20 minute

1434H Ramadan - Self Control

Hello everybody, its been a while since I've been updated anything to my diary blog here.
(It's always 'I will update soon' means I'll update in a month time, or completely forgotten... -_-)
The fact that I rarely update my blog even though I have a lot of fascinating stuff happen in my life is because blogging is something that I need to put lots of effort! Haha.
Besides that, since there's a lot of people around me reading this blog, so I need to be cautious with whatever I'm writing..
From photo to the writing, it took me few hours, even half a day to post a blogpost.
Since its been semester holiday right now, I'll try to update as much as I can. I "try".lol

The main problem that I have right now is "self-control" and I believe that this holy month of Ramadan will able to let me get control of myself, my emotion, physical and spiritual.
I'm ready to fully use this year Ramadan to be a better person, build up my self confidence back and relax.
I'm ready to cleanse my soul, my mind, my body and myself.

So, I have a lot of things I want to concentrate about is about "myself".
All these while, I kept thinking of how my image is represented and judge by people.
Hence, I keep on punishing myself with negativity.
That's why I have no motivation to even update my blog (that's mostly about myself and my life).
I lose control. I lose myself.
This.cannot.go.on.

I need to change this, I need to be in control.
So, Ramadan is the best month to regain my control.
Its all about self-control.

Wish me all the best~!

By the way, I'm working on my first ever song, which I found it kind of strange song.lol
I'm into music more on interest and passion. Basically, musical noob. XP
I need to work on the lyrics and the melody, so I can let my friend to arrange the song.
Then I can submit my demo for next semester performance!

HKUST International Summer Program 2012: [1st July]

Take photo in front of the iconic structure of HKUST before going. =)
It is a sundial.
Some sort like the sun clock.
But it looks like a turkey!
(From Kah Wai's camera)
1st July.
What so special about this date for Hong Kong?

1st July is Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day
(HKSAR establishment day) where on this day two things happen.
One is the protest, and at night, there will be fireworks display held in Victoria Harbour.

" The Hong Kong 1 July protests (Chinese七一遊行) is an annual protest rally originally led by the Civil Human Rights Front since the 1997 handover on the HKSAR establishment day. However, it was not until 2003 that the march drew large public attention by opposing the legislation of Basic Law Article 23.........The introduction of Article 23 legislation was temporarily shelved because of the protest. Since then, the 1 July marches have been held every year as a channel to demand for democracyuniversal suffrage, rights of minorities, protection of freedom of speech and a variety of other political concerns.
Source: Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong_1_July_marches

It is a special day for me to experience this and I will try to documented it here.
It is a very memorable day and unforgettable as it is eventful and meaningful day.
In short, it is the day I'll never forget.

Since this post got a lots of photos, please click read more to see them =)

I choose to wear bright yellow =D
The bright colour stand out in the picture.lol

We're heading to the HK city center.

HKUST International Summer Program 2012: [A taste of local food @ Hang Hau]

From right: My room mate, me, Kah Wai and Andy.
(From Kah Wai's camera)

That day we went to the ISP trip, the typhoon warning level 8 are issued and we are advised to stay indoor.
So, my room mate and myself stay in our room but when I woke up, the weather is calm, beautiful and fine.

Look at the beautiful scenery from my room and all these yacht emerges out of nowhere. lol
For the rest of the day, we just stay in our room but at night, Andy invited us to eat out for dinner.
Since the weather is fine, my course mate invited my room mate together to eat out at Hang Hau.
Andy ask me to order but all the menu here is written in traditional Chinese and of course I can't read it.
(-.-'')
haha.

Anybody have any idea how to read this handwriting? XD

Since I can only eat seafood and vegetable, my friend make sure there's no meat in the certain dish that I can eat.
So, only these two dish I can eat:

Fish cooked with corn...
... and vegetable soup.

Fish + rice

This is  Si Chuan style frog dish.
My room mate like spicy food and ended up with this dish.
Of course I don't and cannot eat frog!

Read here from Kah Wai's post about food :
http://bakaahwai.blogspot.com/2012/08/life-in-hkust-part-iii.html

The restaurant that we went is where local people normally eat out.
Because the food that I can eat in these kind of restaurant is limited, I don't mind because sometimes its not the food that matter, its the environment and the experience.

I feel that the experience to be in the foreign country should be explore and this will open up our perception and views toward their culture.
But of course, I take care of what I eat and thank goodness that my friends are very understanding.

This dinner here is pretty special. My room mate is from mainland China and Andy is local Hong Kong people and Kah Wai, Fook Hee and me are Malaysian.
I don't really know Chinese, so Kah Wai help translating for me in English.
Andy speak Cantonese, my room mate speak Mandarin, Fook Hee speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English until his tongue got twisted and got confused with the language and ended up speaking Malay as well. haha!
They talk mostly about language and a bit of politics in China before the situation got tense we Malaysian said "Aiya, nevermind la~". lol!

Here in Hong Kong they are free to voice out their opinion but in mainland China and even Malaysia, we're restricted by law to voice out certain issue.
We Malaysian are used to not talk about sensitive issue and just "never mind" it, so we're like that. haha.

Its a nice experience that even though we're having Chinese heritage, from China, looks like Chinese, but we speak Chinese differently and different from each other.

It is a very interesting point for me because I was raised up in more towards Malay culture and not much of Chinese culture except from my dad's family.
I'm started to get exposed to the Chinese culture from peers was when I'm in Form 6 where almost all of my schoolmate are Chinese.
When I enter UPM, my course mate as well as other university friend invited me to join the Chinese cultural activities and there is where I learn a lot about it.

Going to Hong Kong broadened my mind and perception even more as I met more people and understand more even though I do not really understand Chinese.
(Most of the time I just guessing and it turn out to be wrong.. Bad experience >.<)

Take photo after eating =D
I realized that at this point that I want to be consistent and serious in learning Chinese and Japanese as well.
For instance, Chinese language is a very important language and understanding the language actually narrow down the culture barrier that's really strong, especially in Malaysia.
That's is what I felt and what I can conclude from this.

Twenty-one. 15-08-2012

A note to my 21 years old self  =)
So it is a tradition that I posted something regarding my birthday every year. So this is it.

I feel that I am so blessed that I could celebrate my humble 21 years old of me with my parents.
No need mountains of presents, no need of a party.
I feel that my 21st birthday should be celebrated with grateful and down to earth moment.
Since it is coincidentally on the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Every steps, every journey, I'd like to celebrate the moment to the fullest.
I no need a present. I already got my present.
Hong Kong, HKUST, the experience is the biggest present that my parents give to me.
The experience is priceless.
I treasure every moment and every second of it.

I'm so blessed that I have such a wonderful parents, family, friends, teachers and people around me.
Thank you.

So here is some note that I wrote for myself:

That is the simple version of these version below:

Human live with choices.
Sometimes we regrets what we choose, sometimes we got delighted with our choice.
Life is a bittersweet experience where we embrace the consequences of the choice to learn and live the life to the fullest.
Every moment counts we try to understand humans, so that we learn from each other.
Every choice that we make, is the one that define who we are.

Life is more than luck and hard work.
It is full with emotion, passion and memories.
Treasure them.

Another step taken, another year gone, another day bring us closer to death.
Looking at the bright side, it is another day to change the world.
A small idea, a simple thought, a tiny hope and with a bit of luck; it is another day to make world a better place.
Believe that one day, the summit of your dream is not as far as you thought.
But do not forget the ground to where you belong when you fly high up to the sky.
Never give up, never lose hope and never stop believing.

It is a reminder note to 21 years old myself.

Life is not always lonely and miserable.
At least, I able to celebrate with my parents alongside with me.

What's a birthday without cake? lol
I got myself different slice of cake of different flavour. lol
So long haven't eat cake =D
Thank you Daddy and Mama.
Without you, I'm nothing.
You're my heroes.
I always wanted to make you proud of me.

Thank you so much. =)
Oh ya, I should go and register myself as voter and be counted! =D

Human Failing.. and the result

Click on the picture to read it
I really like this article and I get it from The Star on 30 Dec 2010.
It is about human failing. Great article it was.
Here are some of my favourite quote from the article:

"If you are always 'appy, you are not trully 'appy. To be trully 'appy, you must first be sad"

Uninterrupted success is less satisfying than success intertwined with failure.

Could any of the successful people mentioned in the article have achieved the success they did if their lives had been an effortless progression from triumph to triumph?
No, it was the determination born in times of hardship that put steel in their soul.

Now, lets get back to the NHK contest result shall we?

Among 152 songs submitted from 31 country, I'm among 39 people who had been selected  to be voted by more than 4000 votes.
I feel that a lot of contestent is so talented and better than me, of course.
I guess I am not popular enough to get a lot of votes :P

Judges are Hitomi Shimatani and George Williams.

Wah... I m so nervous waiting for the result... Listening to NHK Radio Japan online patiently and nervously.

I don't deserve to win because the effort that I put is lesser than those who participated.

OMG, they have such a wonderful voice!!!

Saira Hosen Mo got a lot of votes! From Bangladesh. Cute voice she have. Wow. She got more than half of the 4000 votes! Cute and talented.
George William saidOh, very good! I realized that music is not technique. It was lovely because I could feel the heart of the girl singing trying her best.
I agree. :)
Go check the website for more info.
http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/jpcm/english/index.html

Haih.... I didn't win and my voice was not even out on air. T.T

The one that sing Indonesian (sound like Malay song to me) song win the grand prize!! Wow....

But anyway, its okay. That doesn't make me give up anyway.
Fail once doesn't mean that I'll fail forever though.
Haha. Its alright then, next time, be prepared! よく準備します!
This is just a beginning.

負けただった。
さああー大丈夫だよ。
あと、次があるでしょうー
次の事、絶対準備するんだ!
アジアナ頑張れ~!

Losing doesn't mean that we should stop trying.
Its a motivation to move FORWARD.
Be better prepared next time then. :)
Me in yellow highlight :')
But then, I received an e-mail from NHK Radio Japan Producer:

E-mail
本当にありがとうございます! ^^
Still got something even though I didn't win. :)

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all those who voted for me.
Thank you very very much!!

Lots of love,
Aziana :)
